1. Preserve the biological source
Physical basis
Immediate cooling and vascular access are followed by pressure- and flow-bounded aldehyde perfusion, regional and microvascular delivery, fixation completion, and controlled custody. The retained object is the topology, relationships, geometry, and fixed evidence consumed by authoritative readout and source-specific compilation.
Architecture
Cooling, vascular access, pressure/flow control, process telemetry, fixation, and custody form one preservation system. Regional and microvascular coverage, rather than gross perfusate volume or surface appearance, is the principal delivery criterion.
Qualification
Observer-validated specimens measure first arrival, microvascular coverage, deep and posterior territories, spatial holes, injury, and rescue behavior together with synchronized pressure, flow, return, and intervention traces.
2. Form authoritative source records
Physical basis
The fixed source is converted into electronic records of ownership, PRE/POST relationships, topology, operator-relevant geometry, and owner-keyed molecular evidence. Ambiguous or conflicting evidence remains ambiguous rather than being forced into a match.
Architecture
Physical source keys, relation records, owner-keyed evidence, cyclic finite-symbol reading, explicit error models, and fail-closed ambiguity handling establish source authority before destructive molecular fan-out.
Qualification
Symbol discrimination, reset fidelity, free-trigger leakage and carryover, template survival, locality, repeated-cycle error, relation accuracy, dropout/collision behavior, and wrong-owner contamination.
3. Compile source-specific dynamics
Physical basis
Retained source evidence is mapped into effective dynamical models plus the source-specific parameters, residuals, and initial conditions supported by that evidence. Uncertainty and provenance remain attached to inferred values.
Architecture
The source record carries ownership and relations, model law, initialization class, uncertainty, provenance, and residual state required to compile the individual-specific dynamical state.
Qualification
Same-cell studies pair live electrophysiology with terminal molecular and protein evidence, hold out entire biological sources, and test whether retained evidence predicts source-specific dynamics within prospectively declared uncertainty and tolerance.
4. Construct the computational implementation
Construction
Software, runtime, memory, persistence, scheduling, action authority, semiconductor and compute systems, device interfaces, and service infrastructure are engineered independently of the biological source. Biological tissue geometry is not used as the hardware blueprint.
Operation
The compiled individual-specific state runs on that constructed architecture. Runtime state evolves under the compiled transition laws and incoming sensorimotor input, while committed history, persistence, checkpoint/restart, failover, and external-action release remain explicitly controlled.
Qualification
Resource margins, numerical precision, timing, memory behavior, persistence, execution error, checkpoint/restart, failover continuity, external-action authority, and long-running state evolution.
5. Bind to the engineered body
Physical basis
The executing individual is coupled to engineered sensing, actuation, power, thermal management, communication, service, and safety systems.
Architecture
Mechanical, electrical, compute, sensing, actuation, power, thermal, and chassis systems form a separate embodiment stack connected to the computational runtime.
Qualification
Closed-loop sensorimotor behavior, compute/body interfaces, actuator and sensor performance, power, thermal behavior, safety controls, service states, and recovery under person-scale workloads.
